2 Litre Pre-90 Rear Wheel Drive 2019

2 Litre Pre-90 Rear Wheel Drive 2019

Saturday 13th July sees the 2019 Trackstar old-skool rear wheel drive National Banger meeting take place at King’s Lynn.  The cars are old skool, but the racing rules are bang up to date!  Unlike the 2018 meeting, we are only going to run one ‘group’ of cars this year and therefore in the interests of safety, some of the smaller cars permitted last year are being outlawed (which makes little difference as nobody used them anyway!) and some of the larger cars from the ‘large car’ class in 2018 are also being removed.  In deciding which of the larger cars to allow, we have looked more favourably on older models where corrosion is more likely to level the playing field and kept out the later models which will still be appropriate for use in Unlimited Pre 90 or Pre 85 events.

The basic principles of the meeting are:

·         All cars to be pre 1990 models

·         Engines must either be original to the car or a Ford engine.  In 2019 we are allowing crossflow engines, pintos up to 2 litre and Zetec engines as well but the limit for Zetecs will be 1800cc.

·         Engine swaps are also not permitted to exceed the engine size originally available in the car – no power-ups.

To give everybody a good idea of the size range of cars we are looking for, we present below a list of some of the more commonly encountered cars that will and won’t be allowed.  Drivers with anything else that they think may be suitable should check with the promotion on 01553 771111 or trackstar@norfolkarena.co.uk.
