Introduction

Our Bank Holiday spectacular continues on Monday with one of the highlights of the season with the annual VANDEMONIUM classic featuring the Big Van Bangers plus regular banger action from the 1500cc Bangers and saloon stock car action from the 1300cc Stock Cars.

 

DRIVERS PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT RACING BUT NOT LISTED BELOW YOU NEED TO BOOK IN ASAP ON 01553 771111 OR 07939 580652. ALSO IF YOU APPEAR BELOW BUT CAN NO LONGER RACE YOU MUST CANCEL ASAP ON THE SAME NUMBERS.

 

There are currently 23 Big Van Bangers, 54 1500cc Bangers and 43 1300cc Stock Cars booked in to race. 

Drivers please note that the pits open at 10am and your early arrival will be appreciated. Drivers turning up in the last hour could well find themselves missing their first race.

 

Big Van Bangers

Destruction does not come any bigger than when the Big Vans are in town. Big Vans mean big hits and big wrecks and the drivers always put on a superb display in these machines with the Demolition Derby at the end of the show always being a firm favorite!

Big Van Banger events always produce lots of action

The Gypsy Crew – a team of drivers who live to entertain – are booked in big numbers with 82 David Norris, Holland’s 87 Justin Kappert, 273 Kevin McClagish, 372 Barry Overland, 373 John Anderson and 411 Daniel Pegg all looking to get involved in the action.

Expect 411 Daniel Pegg and the rest of the Gypsy Crew to be heavily involved

The Garrod brothers – 337 Ashley, 338 Terry and 339 Jack will all be set to be involved in the action. Whilst Terry and Ash will probably be chasing National Points, Jack’s new position as the leader of the Banger Entertainer League will no doubt see him involved in the crashing as he seeks to stay at the head of the entertainer points.

757 Callum Gill raced a rated van camper at this meeting last year which was destroyed in fine style by 888 Shaun Stark – with both of these drivers also on the booking list expect the sparks to fly between the pair of them!

Other drivers that are booked in which can be expected to be heavily involved in the action include 170 Chris Shipp, 851 Adam Storr, 352 Ben Mynott and 611 Joe Geeves.

1500cc Bangers

Regular banger action comes from the 1500cc Bangers – and with over 50 Bangers booked in for action expect plenty of smashes and crashes!

Expect plenty to be going on in the 1500cc Bangers on Monday

Several drivers will be kept very busy as they look to race both the Big Van Bangers and the 1500cc Bangers. These include the Garrod brothers, 78 Gavin Oakes, 399 Jonny Atkins, 352 Ben Mynott and 452 Paul Sweet, 611 Joe Geeves – well done to those drivers for a fantastic commitment!

Big crashes are the order of the day!

830 Lee White continues to impress from the red grade, racking up the points with some great drivers. 1300 Stock Car star 379 Ben Whitehall makes a rare 2016 appearance in this formula.

The Mad Hatters will be well represented with 55 Ricky Ivatt, 247 Jon Bailey, 390 David Gibson, 392 Sam Baines, 399 Jonny Atkin and 611 Joe Geeves all booked in to race. There is also a big field of SHB drivers with 186 Chris Loveridge, 213 Carl Musson,502 Tyler Bloomfield, 571 Mark Quinsey, 633 Leeroy Haywood, 899 Jordan Westlake and 910 Lee Mews which could lead to some interesting exchanges!

A big turnout of Mad Hatters is expected

100 Callum White and 256 Mark Ginders who were leading the entertainer league before having to miss last week’s meeting will be back in action and determined to get back on the point trail by being involved in the action.

Turnouts for this all action formula continue to be high and another 40+ car turnout is expected on Monday.

333 Dan Weavers has really got the big between his teeth and will be looking to continue to score well after now making superstar – a recent runner up finish in the English Championship at Ipswich will have only increased his confidence.

08 Lee Green will be hoping to continue to prove that you can compete with a RWD machine on shale by building on his Sheffield win.

Following good starts to the season 400 Kevin Shinn finds himself back in the reds and 92 Gaving Nicholls is now back up to blue.

Three drivers who have moved to yellow following excellent displays from the white grade – 191 Luke Leedell, 317 Lauren Overy and 517 Ted Leak will be looking to show that their performances which netted plenty of top places between then can also be repeated further towards the back of the grid.

The formula continues to attract brand new drivers and also sees the return of drivers who have not raced for several years. No less than seven drivers fall into this and we wish 59 Raymond Wilkinson, 66 Carl Morgan, 173 Ray Sharrod, 511 Jack Licquorice, 629 Euan Rout, 681 Dan Moore and 786 Stu Nicholls the best of luck on Monday.

 

Fairground Ride

 

All of the fun of the fair will be at the Adrian Flux Arena this Saturday with the return of everyone's favorite the Helter Skelter and the Jets - two great rides for all of the kids to go on before the meeting and during races. The good news for mum and dad is that it is free for kids to go on and they can go on it as often as they like!!!
