Pistol Pete's one Last Shot!
Mark it on your diary now for 2017 – Saturday June 3rd when the sport celebrates the career and says goodbye to 811 Pete Winter with Pistol Pete’s one last shot which takes place at King’s Lynn.
This will be the fourth high profile driver who has ended their illustrious career with a big farewell meeting at Lynn and Trackstar cannot think of a better way of organising a big meeting than one which celebrates the careers of the likes of Psycho, Peewee, Speedy and now to be added to that list Pistol Pete!
Pete started his career back in 1982 and 35 years of racing will be coming to an end in 2017. He has been no stranger to race victories with the British title in 2003 and TSR World in 2002 being his main triumphs title wise in the sport but like those drivers we have celebrated the career of at King’s Lynn Pete is more remembered for the fantastic cars he has raced together with the superbly entertaining performances he gives on track. Pete revels as much in doing this now as he did when he started racing over 30 years ago as exemplified at the recent Speedy Exit his Rolls Royce Silver Cloud was one of the cars of the meeting and he walked away with an entertainer award after some brilliant shots all day – a week earlier at the Mildenhall Pre 70 he was many people’s choice for “driver of the meeting” with a rated performance in his Oxford Farina and Pete’s performances – particularly on the UK’s shale ovals continue to impress now as much as they ever have over the past 30+ years! Pete also has a reputation as a driver who races a banger as it should be and whatever happens on track you can guarantee a smile and a handshake when Pete exits his car and if someone has put him in the fence Pete will be the first in the pits to offer assistance to get his perpetrator back on track (even if might just be so he can get a revenge shot once on track!!)
This meeting was announced at the Speedy Exit meeting and Pete has already been inundated with requests to race at his meeting.
This will be an all Unlimited Banger meeting along the lines of Axe-Tinction and Heinegone and event with a year to go with the amount of interest Pete has already had from all over the UK and Europe we can safely say this will be a meeting that will be fully booked!
As with the above meetings Pete will be inviting drivers to race whome he has raced with over the past thirty years. Bookings for the remaining spots will open from 1 January but as with the above meetings we are not expecting to be able to accommodate everyone who wants to race.
Any driver who wins an entertainer award at the Pre 85 meeting, World of Shale and Halloween Havoc Unlimited Meetings will also win themselves a booking for Pistol Pete’s One Last Shot!
