Introduction
One of the highlights of the local Banger Racing calendar takes place at the Adrian Flux Arena on Saturday night (6pm) with the 12th staging of the Bandit Memorial, in memory of Michael Bailey, for both Unlimited Bangers and Two-Litre Bangers. Providing the supporting cast are the always-entertaining 1300cc Stock Cars.
There are currently 74 Unlimited Bangers, 27 2L Bangers, 32 1300 Stock Cars and 5 Micra Stox booked in to race.

Unlimited Bangers
An excellent entry of big rear-wheel driver Bangers features many a star name. Topping the list is World of Shale Champion 148 Ian ‘Shorty’ Redden, the most stylish of drivers, who was twice a winner when the Unlimiteds were last in action at Easter and won this event back in 2011.
148 Ian "Shorty" Redden returns to the scene of his World of Shale triumph
Former WoS Champion 247 Lee Clarke is likely to prove rapid, but it was his team-mate 821 Ryan Preston who stole the honours in the East Anglian Championship last time out.
Also likely to be challenging at the sharp end are Supreme Champion 22 Dave Vincent and evergreen shale expert 160 Shayn Winsor, whose son 960 Ross Winsor is making rapid strides on the loose in rear-wheel drive machinery.
960 Ross Winsor has been making rapid strides in the Unlimited Bangers
Silver roof holders 338 Terry Garrod and 898 Andy Battle, together with former points champion 673 Darren Fendley, will be gunning for glory, with Garrod targeting his first win in Unlimited machinery, and hoping to be joined in the category by brother 339 Jack Garrod for the first time.
Superstar driver 382 Jack Foster Jr and brother 82 Tom Foster come fresh from playing a big part in their Grey & Black team winning the East Anglian team title at Mildenhall last weekend.
World Champion 390 David Gibson will be in the mix, but whether that is challenging at the front of races, or providing the entertainment further back is anyone’s guess. His Mad Hatters team-mates 399 Jonny Atkin and 611 Joe Geeves will also be in action.
390 David Gibson is always involved in the middle of the action
Michael ‘Bandit’ Bailey’s former Predators team is headed by 779 Luke Allen who will be out to put on a show in his honour.
Certain to keep things lively having travelled all the way from Sussex are renowned entertainers 321 Kieran Fry, 388 Taylor Sowter, 883 Jack Filmer and 884 Tom Filmer. Fry’s Bears team-mates 41 Paul Pentecost, 133 Karly Day (the defending champion), 266 Callum Hall and 726 Kalin Dawe will also be getting stuck in.
388 Taylor and the rest of Team Sowter have been a great addition to the Unlimited Banger scene at King's Lynn this year
Wild Boyz 149 Wayne Bailey, 98 Matt Harrison and 469 Michael Scally travel south to have a big crash, as do former Stinkbridge men 211 Jordan Hall and 212 Jak Hall, while the Essex-based Shunters outfit featuring 513 Sean Harvey, 514 Charlie Taylor and 768 Danny McSweeney will certainly not go home with straight motors.
Don't expect 513 Sean Harvey and the rest of the Shunters to take home a straight motor on Saturday!
Add in the likes of the Mad Mob’s 790 Nathan Young and Aftermath duo 32 Alan Wombwell and 132 Robert James, and it looks set to be a belter.
Two-Litre Bangers
World Champion 390 David Gibson, plus 128 Andrew Shipp, 338 Terry Garrod (who is a former winner of the title), 399 Jonny Atkin, 830 Lee White and 673 Darren Fendley are among those on double duty in the Bangers so top marks to them.
128 Andrew Shipp is one of several drivers making a magnificent effort to race both the Unlimited and 2L Bangers on Saturday
Brothers 337 Ashley Garrod – who is more of a front-wheel drive specialist – and 339 Jack Garrod are also in action and likely to be among the frontrunners, as they have already proved on several occasions in 2015.
Predators interest in headed by 479 Joel Allen, while sometime Predator 209 Tom Waller may also be among those carrying the famous red and blue colours.
Veteran 701 Kevin Cooper and 830 Lee White could be among the favourites for race wins.
830 Lee White will be amongst the favorites for the chequered flag

1300cc Stock Cars
Hometown racer 340 Wes Freestone leads the entry of the little stock cars, as World of Shale Champion and National Points Champion. He is still, however, chasing his first win on home shale in 2015.
340 Wes Freestone leads the 2015 points but is still chasing his first 2015 win at the Adrian Flux Arena - will he end that wait on Saturday?
Much of the winning to date has been done by 400 Kevin Shinn who will be racing from the blue grade for the first time this weekend. Similarly, 22 Ian Cowern steps up to the yellow grade after some impressive displays.
First time red graders 444 Natasha Street and 780 Simon Sparrow could find it hard going from the back of the grid but it will be interesting to see how the pair fare from there, alongside 08 Lee Green, who can be unbeatable on his day.
444 Natasha Street will be racing from the star grade for the first time on Saturday night
653 Gemma Rainer has been runner-up in two finals already this season. Surely that first main event is now just around the corner.
With new recruits – such as 422 Martin Taylor – constantly joining the formula, and big fields of cars making it hard work for those starting near the back of the grid, the winners could come from anywhere.
Free Fairground Rides for the Kids
A kids ride will be back at the Adrian Flux Arena for the kids to ensure that they have plenty to do before the meeting and between races. The good news for mum and dad is that going on the rides is all free!
