Introduction

The racing comes with added ‘bang’ on a bank holiday weekend at the Adrian Flux Arena, as we once again look forward to two action-packed meetings, begining on Saturday night (6pm), with the third visit of the season of the mighty BriSCA Formula One Stock Cars. The second part of a stock car racing enthusiast’s dream combination is provided by Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars, while offering more than capable support are the under-16s in their Ministox. This is the first time that the F1 Stock Cars and 2L Stock Cars have been on the same billing in 2015 and it is also the last F1 Stock Car meeting at King's Lynn for nearly three months

There are currently 43 F1 Stock Cars, 44 2L Stock Cars and 25 BriSCA MiniStox booked in to race.

We are currently expecting 43 F1 Stock Cars, 44 2L Stock Cars and 25 BriSCA MiniStox.

Please note that any drivers racing in a formula that is due to receive start money and is not booked in will not receive Start Money. Any other formula will not receive their points or complimentary admissions. Any driver who is booked in who does not race or cancel their booking will have to pay a fine before they are allowed to race again. Bookings and cancelations can be made by E Mailing trackstar@norfolkarena.co.uk or by phoning 01553 771111 or phoning / texting 07939 580652.

F1 Stock Car Drivers who need to book in or cancel should do so through the BSCDA Secretary Sophie Clarke.

The entry of the Big League F1s is looking fantastic as we head towards the weekend, topped by World Champion and shale maestro 55 Craig Finnikin.

World Champion 55 Craig Finnikin and National Points Champion 318 Rob Speak head a star studded entry

Former World Champion 217 Lee Fairhurst – who played a big role in making the meeting final at our April event rated as one of the best races in years – also returns, along with Norfolk’s own 16 Mat Newson, who was also heavily involved last time out and loves to put on a show at his home track and who can forget the contribution of National Points Champion 318 Rob Speak who will be back in action on Saturday night with his own no nonsense style of entertaining performances.

Flashback to last month's fantastic F1 Stock Car Final

The National Points standings currently feature a 1-2 for Yorkshire’s famous Wainman brothers, 515 Frankie and 212 Danny. Both will be aiming to pile up some more this weekend. They won’t be given an easy ride though by the likes of the entertainer 150 Mick Sworder.

21 Mark Gilbank, 191 Josh Smith and 422 Ben Riley were all race winners last time out and will be looking to continue that kind of form this weekend.

Can 2015 novice 422 Ben Riley continue his great run and take another King's Lynn win?

Further contenders for victory may come in the shape of 259 Paul Hines and the ever-popular 326 Mark Sargent. But at least half the field is capable of winning races, and if last time’s session is anything to go by, that will remain the case, even as we enter the closing stages of the race!

With this being the final F1 meeting at King's Lynn for nearly three months, prepare for some no-nonsense, hard and fast stock car racing, where the bumpers are there to be used.

2L Stock Cars

The big Saloons, who have so impressed even the most die-hard of F1 fans in recent years, share the bill with the Ones for the first time this season. Expect more spectacular action from packed grids and plenty of bumper-work.

World Champion 499 David Aldous remains on the hunt for his first win of the season and will be looking to put that right on a track he has made his own in recent years. National Champion 401 Steve Webster and English Champion 304 Martyn Parker complete the list of those with special roof colours, but the star names do not stop there.

Former English Champion 306 Daniel Parker is always a force to reckon with at the Saddlebow Road shaleway, as are the likes of local driver 641 Willie Skoyles, another driver who – like Parker – are looking to take advantage of a spell in the blue grade.

British Under-25 Champion 698 Danny Colliver is having a fantastic season that sees him top the National Points standings, while 730 Deane Mayes secured his best ever result in a major title race last weekend, when he came second in the European Championship at Cowdenbeath, and was also a race winner here earlier this month.

730 Dean Mayes is ahving a great month having taken his first ever King's Lynn race victory on 2 May and following this with second place in last week's European Championship at Cowdenbeath.

220 Casey Englestone won the final here last time out, while 157 Max Stott was also a race winner. 321 Marcus Skeels has greatly impressed since graduating from Ministox, and we welcome two more newcomers this weekend, although both have experience in other formulas, the father-and-son duo of former 1300cc Stock Car stars 997 Rob Jackson and 450 Luke Jackson.

Saloon Stock Car races are always full of spectacular incidents

Currently sandwiching Aldous in first and third in the King’s Lynn track championship are 6 Simon Welton and 349 Michael Allard. They, and the likes of 18 Jamie Clayton, 149 Jamie Sampson and 570 Simon Venni will need to score big this weekend if they are to mark themselves out as genuine contenders to prevent Aldous taking his sixth consecutive track title.

Can 6 Simon Welton keep his place at the top of the King's Lynn track championship?

BriSCA MiniStox

The youngsters in the Ministox never fail to disappoint, with action just as exciting as the adult formulas, and races more often than not settled in the final few yards. They will be racing for the Venables Racing Shield this weekend, with another strong entry.

The field is headed by National Points Champion 180 Courtney Witts and National Champion 1 Frankie Wainman. They will be looking to take advantage of King’s Lynn track champion Amy Webster’s retirement to stamp their authority on proceedings.

180 Courtney Witts always goes well at King's Lynn

Also likely to be battling at the front of the field is 8 Catherine Harris, while 2 Ben Chambers was a winner last time out at the track.
