BriSCA Formula 1 Stock Cars

Can 515 Frankie Wainman Jr achieve that rare feat of a maximum score, after so narrowly missing out in the season opener here last month? Wainman scorched to heat and final successes in his new car before carving his way through to third in the grand national, without the aid of a yellow flag.

IMG_2179

515 Frankie Wainman jnr was in sensational form last time out

It’s a lot easier said than done, and Wainman will face strong competition from some of the sport’s biggest stars, including former World Champion 55 Craig Finnikin, the man acknowledged by his peers as being the benchmark on shale.

National Points champion 4 Dan Johnson and King’s Lynn track champion 16 Mat Newson will also be among the favourites this weekend.

National Points Champion 4 Dan Johnson will be amongst the favorites for success on Saturday

Just as he threatened to do last season, 445 Nigel Green looks set to join the sport’s elite this year, with a concerted effort on both surfaces. He and fellow Leicestershire man 259 Paul Hines will be in contention for race wins.

 445

445 Nigel Green has made a superb start to the season

Alongside FWJ in the Wainman camp are his brother 212 Danny Wainman and son 555 Frankie Wainman Jr Jr. The latter scored his first ever F1 race win a couple of weeks ago and is riding the crest of a wave. His first win on shale is surely not far off.

Other potential winners include former World Champion 2 Paul Harrison, 21 Mark Gilbank, 22 Will Yarrow and 94 John Dowson Jr.

 2 212

2 Paul Harrison and 212 Danny Wainman will both be in contenton for silverware

Starting nearer the front, 25 Bradley Harrison and 36 Jordan Falding will look to continue making progress in this, their first season on shale, after acquitting themselves well first time out on the Adrian Flux Arena shale last month.

463 James Morris will behoping to stay on all four wheels after performing a high speed rool at our last meeting. Indeed rolling over on turn one at King's Lynn has been a regular occurence for James at King's Lynn over the past 12 months but it is good to see that it hasn't dampened his enthusiasm or determination to get the chequered flag!

463 roll

463 James Morris will be hoping to stay on all four wheels after performing a high speed rollover last time out in a typical hair raising F1 Stock Car incident!

BriSCA Formula Two Stock Cars

The F2 entry has been fully booked for weeks as the drivers look to take the opportunity for a penultimate round of ‘practice’ at the World Semi-Finals venue.

It’s an exciting line-up too, packed with the formula’s top dual-surface drivers and the leading shale specialists.

Heat winners at our season opener last month, 5 Josh Coleman and 606 Andrew Palmer will look to continue that form this weekend. The entertaining 38 Dave Polley will be sure to make full use of the bumper as he challenges up front, while 226 Billy Webster will look to make the most of a last outing from the red grade before his promotion to superstar for the first time next month.

 38

Expect 38 David Polley to make the full use of his front bumper as he looks to move up the grid in the F2 Stock Cars

World of Shale Champion 871 Mark Simpson and fellow Lincolnshire man 103 Carl Issitt are two wily veterans who are as fast as anyone at Saddlebow Road and always in contention for victory.

Shale specialists 219 Chris Mitchell, 225 Tony Blackburn and 377 Daz Shaw will be in the hunt and the same can be said for some of the lower-graded locals like 259 Simon Farrington, 260 Anthony Winters, 630 Justin Parker and 662 Steve Wycherley.

 259

259 Simon Farrington always put on a great display at King's Lynn

Danger from the blue grade comes from the likes of 298 Jake Walker – grand national winner at the track last month.

We also welcome a trio of Dutch visitors in the form of H103 Chris van der Elst, H124 Wim Peeters and H305 Ron van Wamelen, all of whom have had plenty of experience at the track and know how to win whilst a rare visitor will also be in action from Northern Ireland in the shape of NI747 Bradley McKinstry

BriSCA Ministox

The Ministox bookings are headed by third generation drivers 8 Catherine Harris and 152 Charlie Sworder who look set to duke it out all season. Harris was a heat and final winner last time out, while Sworder secured two top-three finishes.

mini

The BriSCA MiniStox always produce great entertainment

Other likely contenders among the under-16s, who provide just as good racing as the adults, include 269 Ben Chalkley and 798 Finn Sargent.

Continuing her apprenticeship in her first season in the formula is another third generation driver, 391 Rebecca Smith.

Fairground Ride

All of the fin of the fair will be at the Adrian Flux Arena this Saturday with the return of the Fun House which contains lots for the kids to go on before the meeting and during races. The good news for mum and dad is that it is free for kids to go on and they can go on it as often as they like!!!

Meeting Format

Due to the large number of white & yellow graded F1 drivers booked in to race (29), it is felt that putting all of these out in the opening race of the day which is not even part of the main meeting could prove detrimental to the rest of the meeting due to possible damage. Therefore any driver who has won a race on shale already in 2016 will not be allowed in the White & Yellow Race which will get the numbers to the early 20s.
