Introduction
2020 kicks off with a bang at the Adrian Flux Arena, King’s Lynn, with Icebreaker XXVII, the 27th running of the famous team event on Sunday 19 January (12 noon). The most prestigious team contest for Unlimited Bangers has a star-studded entry; featuring some of the famous Banger racing names and teams. The event this year up set to be the biggest and best for some time; with over 40 teams currently scheduled!
The spectator turnstiles will open at 10am. The arena boasts great viewing all around (plenty of under cover viewing too!), free on site and overflow parking, disabled viewing, licensed bars, ample food outlets and other great facilities. Please note that all bags will be searched on entry and coolboxes, glass and alcohol are not allowed to be bought into the venue.
There are currently 149 Unlimited Bangers (41 teams) booked in to race.
Drivers, if you are not booked in and would like to race, please contact 07939 580652. If are booked in and no longer able to race, please let us know asap. Any driver who turns up unbooked will not receive any complimentary admissions / start monies which they may be entitled to.
Drivers please note your early arrival will be appreciated, the pits will open at 9am. Drivers turning up in the last hour could well find themselves missing their first race. Please note you will not be able to save space in the pits and if you want to park with someone please make sure you turn up with them. Only race transporters will be allowed in the pits.
Unlimited Bangers
The Unlimited Banger Icebreaker is a corner stone of the Winter Banger racing calendar; and for 2020 interest in the event has increased substantially; warring teams; Icebreaker favourites and newcomers too; Icebreaker 27 will be a great way to kick start 2020 at King's Lynn.
Defending the Icebreaker title is Team Extreme, with two teams entered once again; between the “A” and “B” sides they have won the two previous stagings. The two sides return as strong as ever and looking very well placed to once again feature in the points; Devon based Brothers Buddy (262) and Jonny James (362) amongst the line up aswall as; legendary Southern star Terry Coke (627) and King’s Lynn’s multiple champion holder Callum Gill (757).
Team Extreme will be back and as strong as ever to take on the Icebreaker
When it comes to a Team Meeting, Team Black have been there and done it all; one of the strongest teams in a team competition. Two teams once again heading in to battle and will likely be one of Team Extreme’s biggest competition. Jack Deacon (103) and Jack Overy (617) will be looking to lead the teams backed up by a strong side including Tom Taller (209) and Jonny Atkins (399).

Team Mates are another side who are always in contention for the titles at Team events, captained by Lee White (830) the side will be there for thereabouts in the results.
Making a return to King’s Lynn is the Team of Grey and Black; fielding two sides for the competition. Mark Foster (180) was heavily involved in the August Granada/Volvo session; and alongside Mark, the rest of Team Foster will be keen to stake a claim to the titles on Sunday. The “A” side will certainly be looking to make the event their own; Jack Foster (382) in particular likely to feature well.
Speaking of returns, two sides return to the Icebreaker which could see some fireworks; Stinkbridge, bringing four teams no less, whilst the Blooz Boyz are gaining momentum and now upto three. Historically the two sides have clashed considerably over the years; could the next stage of the war continue on Sunday? A mixture of old team members; Simon Hields (51) and Willie Blackwell (451) for TSB and Steve Farrell (200) for the Blooz Boyz, it will be interesting to see how they fare.
Stinkbridge are back in action in big numbers, veteran team members and new!
As much as the Icebreaker points battle will be hotly contested, the Entertainer league could be even closer; with more teams likely to feature in that league than the Points chart. The Boston Warlords took the win last year, and, bringing two teams to this year, they’re looking set to want to retain that crown.
The Essex based Gladiator and Team Shunter outfits are always good entertainment and will be in the mix of things on Sunday; they certainly won’t be out to make friends. Similarly Black & Silver aren’t shy from getting stuck in; particularly Danny (732) and Ricky (733) Stroud.

Team Filmer/Sowter have been an ever present force at King’s Lynn this Season, Taylor Sowter (388) certainly not missing many meetings; which earnt him the Entertainer of the Year in the season long points chart. Team Filmer/ Sowter will be bringing along two sides, with guests from the lively Aftermath team to boost numbers in the form of Callum White (100) and Ross Cooper (604); both sides will certainly be putting the hits about we’re sure!

The Squad make a rare outing to the King’s Lynn shale, and another team bringing two sides. George Tickner (403) in particular will be one to watch. The Predators are always lively customers, not afraid of putting the hits abouts. Similarly TMT; who mixed it well with The Shunters last year and came runner up in the Entertainers in 2019. The Wild Boyz are always in good form too and up for a crash, this year complete with two teams including an Irish only side.
