This Saturday see’s us start our Banger season off in some style with the Road to Gold continuing for the 2 Litre Bangers as they head towards their big one of the year at the start of August.  Some big hitters will be looking to liven things up and make some moves in the 2 Litre Bangers with the likes of Brad Bartram currently going very well in the Entertainers league, and he will be a driver who will be looking to get some more silverware this year.  The former national points champion is having a good run of things in the 2 litres and will once again look to continue that run of form into this weekend, and Brad is normally a driver who is kicking around at the end of the DD to maximise his opportunity to score some good entertainer points.  51 James Licquorice and 372 James Cable are two drivers who are at the top of their game when it comes to entertainment at the moment, and I’d imagine those two will look to have a good day.  51 “The Duck” comes into the 2026 season on the back of another outstanding campaign here and once again took the Entertainers league with relative ease last season, and has become one of the most sought after drivers around the country, but we really do appreciate his loyalty here at Trackstar, and he could have another major say this season.  372 “Cable Tie” has been superb over the winter, and 2026 could be his best year yet!! The youngster who has enjoyed plenty of success in team events with the Dover Boys over the winter will look to get his season of to a crashing start on Saturday.

552 Karl Douglas and 337 Ashley Garrod will be two drivers who will have a big say in the 2 Litre World Final come August, but until then it’s about the points for those drivers, and expect those pair to have a good set of results on Saturday.  552 Douglas is surely due a change in fortune and is now down to Yellow grade and could definitely exploit that if returning to form, whilst 337 Pretty Boy on the back of claiming another national points title will go off in hot pursuit of yet more major honours this year, as his impressive catalogue of achievements continues to grow.  687 Mark Cross makes the long trip up to join us from his new west country base, and going from Superstar he will have his work cut out, however he is a driver who has made his name on the 2 Litre scene, and I’m sure he will have another crack at going for gold come August.  699 Aaron Nelson has had an impressive winter, with plenty of good results, and he is another who is no stranger to getting some great results around here.  517 Rylee Taylor looks set to have a busy season, and takes part in the 2 litres and 1600cc bangers on Saturday, Rylee a driver who had a really good Junior Banger career looks set to carry that on in the national bangers, and he could be one of our standout youngsters for the 2026 campaign.  Rylee will be joined by the returning 589 Simon Smith, it’s great to see the former national points champion back in action, and no doubt he will be out there to keep an eye on Rylee, but no doubt have a good crack at it himself, and he will be one of the favourites on the night to pick up some strong results.  The likes of 210 Callum Mckee and 830 Lee White know exactly what it takes to perform well in the 2 litre bangers, and no doubt Stretch will have another good run at the championship again this season.  Another driver who we are starting to see a lot more of is 572 Paul Scully, and he will be a driver who will certainly be quick around here, alongside the progressive 28 Mac Bell.  50 Reece Laybourn and 66 Lee Hackett Jnr are two drivers who have picked up brilliant results through the 2025 campaign, and they will look set to have a good go again on Saturday.  A driver who will look to mix up the entertainer league is 829 Jay Sharpe, who currently sits inside the top ten, but is making a place on the 2 litre world final grid a priority this season, and I’d expect him to have a very good go at doing that.  404 Luke Brinton is another to keep an eye on who has returned after a few years absence and has been performing well in the Unlimited Bangers, and now looks set to have a good season in the 2 Litres, 519 Lee Middleton is another who can rack a serious amount of points up in the 2 litres and will have a huge chance of making the world final once again.  248 Jamie Blything has come as close as you can get to winning the world final without winning it, and he will again go for another crack at gold this year, so expect him to be quick alongside 312 Brad White and 126 Daniel Bowley, both of those lads are more than capable of grabbing a win or two on the night.  370 John Cobbold and 26 Dan Holmes are two drivers who can easily out perform their grade and could have their say in plenty of races during the meeting.  128 Andrew Shipp is back up to red, and that shows the sort of form he has been in recently.  The James trio are out in force on Saturday with dad 132 Bobbles joined by 232 Levi and 432 Lucas, and they could be very entertaining to watch indeed.

1600’s look set to have a good night in front of them with plenty of top names out in action.  The likes of 551 Brett Jackson and 311 Garry Lown will be having their first run out here of the season, then 275 Joel Bond the 1600cc points champion will be looking to have a good go at defending it, however he may be busy soon with other priorities, 479 Joel Allen will be Joined by 79 Ricky Twell who returns after a great effort at the pre 96 Old Skool meeting, and it’s good to see him back where he belongs.  There are certainly some rivalries that will be renewed come Saturday, with plenty of drivers looking to get stuck in.

The Unlimited Lady’s spring back into action, with defending Gold Roof Champion 150 Katelyn Parrin setting the standard, and she has become a quality driver, and a force to be reckoned with in the ladies, and she has a good run out with the nationals back in December, and she will have a good chance of grabbing the gold once again this season.  502 Becca Bitson will look to try and win her gold back and you wouldn’t put it past her at all.  406 Lilly Parker is a newbie to the formula but has had decent results elsewhere coming into this, 110 Stacey Lighfoot has been in good form for the last couple of seasons, and no doubt will have another good run this year.  419 Laura Quadling has been unlucky so far not to win major honours in this formula, and no doubt her time will come very soon indeed.  All in all we have over twenty ladies ready to do battle come Saturday, and they have become a cracking formula to watch over the last couple of seasons.  Stacey Reeves and 920 Kacey Church will be two drivers to keep an eye on for good results.

The Junior Bangers also return this weekend with plenty of decent drivers out on the grid, 08 Taylor Morton will be proudly showing off his silver roof, and he will have plenty to do from back there, however his driving style has lead him to be able to work his way through late on in races, often sitting in early to wait and see how things play out.  We have plenty of new drivers with us for the 2026 campaign after having plenty come of age through the 2025 season. So it will be great to see how the likes of Freddy Fowler, William Eve, Reggie Stevens and Ollie Riches get on.  479 Elliott Royal will be another who will look to have a good season with us, whilst the likes of 389 Aiden and 339 Jack Garrod Jnr will look to have good seasons, with 339 one who could challenge for points this season, as are the pairing of 730 Leo Mayes on the back of his quality awards night and 478 Morgan Bailey who continues to work his way through the grades.  34 Bentley Freestone and 26 Alfie Lovick will look to continue their early promise.

All in all we have a great night ahead of us for Saturday, so don’t forget to join us for our 5pm start
