Tonight see’s us hold one of our biggest nights of the year, and one that has become a must do for spectators and drivers alike!! As we speak we currently have 91 Unlimited Bangers booked in to do battle with a great field of 36 1300’s in a qualifiers only and invite only event for the 2025 staging of their World Of Shale, and completing the line is the very entertaining Reliant Robins, and we currently have twenty of the lively three wheelers currently booked into race!! On top of that we have our famous fancy dress parade for the kids, and adults if you like to dress up for Halloween.
This is always a great way for kids to have a walk around one of the best arenas in Banger and Stock Car racing, and to show off their Halloween costumes to everyone in the crowd. Also it’s the return of the spectacular firework display which is always an unmissable event, and I have it on good authority that this year is bigger and better than any other year that we have had, and is a must not miss firework display!
Going back to the racing and we can happily say that we have over fifteen Hearses and Limos for their annual Supernatural Grand Finale!! This is always a race that the drivers enjoy, they love to put on a show in this one and it normally ends up being one of the most destructive races of the night with plenty of action and a huge crowd pleaser, and then it’s all systems go for those drivers to then fix their cars and return to action in the main meeting, where they will then pit their wits against drivers who will be in more modern day Unlimited Bangers. If you’re new to Banger racing the aim of the game is to push, barge and shove your way to the front of the pack and be the one to take the chequered flag before the rest, drivers are often seen absolutely smashing each other to pieces to give themselves the opportunity of winning, or generally just smashing other drivers up simply because they can. There is however drivers who love to go for a win, and there are plenty of quick drivers out on track. The quickest currently round here are the three time East Anglian Champion 209 Tom Waller who will definitely be one of the ones to keep an eye on with regards to winning, alongside him will be 459 Blake Platts who had one of the biggest nights of his life when winning the Unlimited Banger World Final at Ipswich back at the start of October, and that on the back of a stunning qualifying campaign for the Unlimited Bangers World Of Shale. Those are two drivers who will be on the hunt for a victory tonight and if it is your first time, it might catch you off guard with how quick these lads are. It’s also good to welcome back our 2 Litre Banger World Champion 570 Jordan Cumming. Jordan a driver who has always gone very well round here is quickly becoming a driver who boasts one of the most impressive trophy cabinets in the business, and I’m sure tonight he will be bang it again. There is also some top entertainers on track tonight with the likes of The Bears making an appearance with plenty of them taking to the track it could be utter carnage from the boys in red, white and blue. We have a couple of drivers making their way down from Scotland in the form of 274 John Taylor and 74 Jamie Sangster which will be great to see, we also have a battle of the entertainers with 24 Patric Hughes and 750 Rhys Parrin at the forefront of proceedings for the nights action, and with Patric coming with a limo, he could carry on what has been a sensational 2025 from the young Kent based driver, and it’s good to see him make the trip up for tonight’s event. 750 Rhys Parrin has been brilliant all season and for such a young driver, he has been on top form throughout this current campaign, and made his debut in the two major races for the Unlimited Bangers this season. Current entertainer league champion and current entertainer league leader 51 James Licquorice will be a man to keep an eye on in his hearse, and no doubt will be taking home a big wreck at the end of the night, he is a driver who can give it and take it, and he will be one who will be up for putting on a show for everyone and also do it with a smile on his face. Tonight also marks the start of the Unlimited World Of Shale qualifying campaign and it will certainly be interesting to see who comes through this with points on the board!! There are two ways of qualifying for the 2026 Unlimited World Of Shale, one is through the points, where literally your job is to amass as many points over the qualifying campaign as possible to secure a top fifteen spot to get in, and the second is the entertainers league, which again will see the drivers have to entertain as much as possible over the qualifying period with also the top fifteen getting into the biggest race on shale. So as you can see it really is all to play for on Saturday night for our drivers, we have always been very lucky with where our drivers have come from to venture to join us, with plenty making the trip to us from all over the country. Expect to see a strong showing from South Yorkshire with the likes of 299 Tommy Callaghan and 455 Rikki Finney leading the way, and it wouldn’t be no surprise to see one of those lads if not both of them grab a win on Saturday night. We also have a The Aftermath out there in action, and no doubt they will be their usual selves and going out to put on a show, The Damage Inc lads will also be out in force on Saturday, and there may be a bit of action coming from them, although 247 Lee Clarke is a driver who is a multi champion round here. 243 Pete Osbourne will be back for his annual trip out and no doubt will be dressed up and looking the part for Halloween, and it will also be great to see 158 Shane Davies and 747 Bradley Davies back out in action with us, both are highly talented drivers who can get stuck in when the time is right. There are also some top youngsters to keep an eye on, with the likes of 920 Rhys Medley and 257 Harvey Barrow drivers who will look to have a good go at things on Saturday.
The Reliant Robins return to the track on Saturday, and once again we have great numbers of the funny three wheelers who will look to race and roll their way to the chequered flag, big hitters 385 Roy Gedge, 553 Danny Douglas and 490 Lee Barnard will all be looking to get a win or two along the way, with 117 Lee Reynolds, 106 Olly Betts and 835 Jamie Hughes not too far behind. On the action front expect the likes of 227 Steve Futter to be one of the drivers who will be hitting top form and putting on an incredible show, he is someone who loves a crash in the Reliant Robins, and no doubt he will rise to the occasion tonight.
Action also comes from the 1300’s who will compete in their 2025 World Of Shale, and see’s the best 36 drivers on the shale take centre stage for a race to see who will be crowned the World Of Shale Champion!! Expect the sparks to fly and bumpers to be traded as these drivers go into battle and they certainly don’t give up easily for sure, they have grown in strength and numbers over the last decade, and are now one of the most watched formulas on the UK short ovals, they will have their big World Championship here next year, and that will be a weekend not to be missed.
All that’s left to say on behalf of the promotion is enjoy the night and thank you for making our Halloween carnival night now what it is!!
Enjoy the racing, parade and fireworks
Matt
