Pre 96 Icebreaker Teams Of 4 – 2026 – Date tbc
After the 2025 Icebreakers there was a surge of interest in an old school Icebreaker event. Therefore, we are pleased to announce this is something we would like to pursue with and outline some details.
There will be separate points and entertainer league competitions on the day (by teams – not individual)
There will be further awards for…….
Only 2 teams per name, i.e. A and B are fine, no C and D etc. teams
No turning around until the Final and DD
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
Car eligibility:
National Banger Build Rules
Cam and Dizzy Guard allowed, only to fit. E.g. nothing over the top and must be mounted to the engine
Cars that were made pre 1996 with a 1400cc or smaller engine, 1600cc engine limit.
If you want to use a cavalier you can, but only use an 8v engine – there was never a 1600 Ecotec in these
Mk3 Astra fine on either 8v or 16v as both came as standard
Honda, Nissan, Toyota all fine with 16v
RWD CARS: Still 1600cc limit, ford engine transplants allowed as per national rules. No 16v transplants in rwd, so 1600cc Pinto or Crossflow is fine.
To help, here’s a list of suitable cars that people may wish to use at this meeting. If you have anything else, please check with the office before buying / starting to build. If we get any common queries, we’ll add them to the list to make life easier. There are quite a few suitable RWD models for example, but most of these have been left out as people probably will want to keep these for other types of meeting
