Back to the Old Skool Continues!

Following on from the all Carina, Bluebird, Cavalier, Carina and Calibra meeting supporting the Saturday of the 2018 Saloon Stock Car World Championship weekend at King’s Lynn, the old skool theme continues on Sunday 19 August when Trackstar will present a 2 Litre rear wheel drive meeting with a difference.  Many 2 Litre rear wheel drive meetings have a tendency to attract some cars which would not be out of place at an Unlimited fixture but we have been approached by drivers with cars that they would never want to race against that sort of competition on safety grounds.

So what we are looking to do is recreate a mid-90s vibe running the sorts of cars that were the mainstay of 2 Litre meetings in the era when front and rear wheel drive cars were commonly used against each other (even on shale!) and the Ford Mondeo was something that was still only seen on the road.

Some basic rules to begin with:

·        All cars to be pre 1990 models

·        Engine swaps are allowed but no 16 valve engines will be permitted unless original to the car.  Any replacement engine may not be of a larger capacity than fitted to the model range originally

·        Certain larger cars marked with an asterisk (*) in the list below will only be permitted to run with either the original engine or a 1300 or 1600 crossflow as an alternative.  No pintos may be used in these cars

To give everybody a good idea of the size range of cars we are looking for, we present below a list of some of the more commonly encountered cars that will and won’t be allowed.  Drivers with anything else that they think may be suitable should check with the promotion on 01553 771111 / 07939 580652 or trackstar@norfolkarena.co.uk.

Bookings for this event will open on 1 July.
