The Life of Riley - Nutty Nige Unlimited Banger Testimonial weekend

Mark it in your diary – Trackstar are delighted to announce the “must do” National Banger meetings of 2023 – “The Life of Riley!” Which will take place at King’s Lynn over the 2023 August Bank Holiday weekend

We have had some fantastic celebrations of Banger Drivers careers at King’s Lynn with some great testimonial and retirement meetings.

We are very excited about a driver whose career we will be celebrating next year though! 421 “Nutty” Nigel Riley has done everything in National Bangers. In a career which has spanned decades, Nutty has epitomised what Banger Racing is about. He has battled with the best, led one of the biggest teams in the sport and been hugely popular on both sides of the fence.

Whilst Nigel is keen to stress he will not be hanging up his helmet – we don’t actually think he will ever retire – this testimonial double header is a chance for the sport to recognise and celebrate the career of one its legends.

We have never run an Unlimited Banger weekend at King’s Lynn before but if there is one driver we wanted to do it for – it is Nigel!

Saturday night will be for Pre 90 Unlimited Bangers and is already fully booked and will feature many of Nigel’s friends and foes through the years. Sunday will feature Unlimited Bangers which will be along the lines of Axe-Tinction and Heinegone with heats for Pre 90 and similar cars. Nigel would like to thank all of those who have already accepted a booking for the meeting. There is currently a reserve list being put together for Saturday and around 30 places left for the Sunday meeting and anyone who Nigel may have forgotten to invite (difficult to remember everyone when you get to Nutty’s age!!) is more than welcome to apply for a booking by contacting Ash Riley on Facebook. We want this to be a big celebration and although we are limited with pit space we want to try and find space on one of the days for everyone who wants to be part of it!

Many drivers have been personally invited to this weekend by the Bears and are looking forward to putting on two meetings which will rank amongst the best seen at King’s Lynn.

Amongst those who have confirmed are the Raal Team from the continent who helped to make Maai’s meeting such a tremendous success. Several drivers from Ireland have also confirmed they will be coming over.

As is tradition with these meetings which are a big celebration we hope to bring you free funfair rides both days – including the dodgems and there will be a late night disco and bar on Saturday night and a section of the field opposite the stadium will be set aside for those who want to camp overnight.

It truly is going to be a weekend not to miss! News on tickets (this could well be the first King’s Lynn meeting to be sold out pre meeting) will be announced next year.
