Introduction

We are back in action this Saturday 5 June where another cracker is on the cards in the shape of the Unlimited Banger War of the Worlds – if this meeting is half as good as what we were treated to by the 2L Bangers in their version of this team competition two week we are in for a real treat. Like the 2L Banger War of the Worlds the meeting is helping to support and promote Men’s Mental Health charity CALM. 

There are 107 Unlimited Bangers (20 teams) and 40 Junior Bangers booked in to race.

The pit gate will open for competitors at 2pm, the gates for ticket holders will open at 3pm. Please have your e-ticket confirmation ready, either on your phone or printed.

A small amount of food and drink can be bought with you into the stadium; alcohol, glass and coolboxes are not permitted. Thank you.

Face coverings are mandatory around the entire Arena, unless exempt by Government guidance for Age, Health or Disability. Please ensure this is worn when you leave your vehicle.

Preview

Starting with the Unlimited Bangers; the Summer equivalent to the popular Icebreaker event is set to bring another good turnout of Unlimited Bangers to King’s Lynn. The line up of Unlimited Bangers is a who’s who of some of the best National Banger racers … we’re in for a treat! Team Black successfully defended the title last time it was staged in 2019 and are back again for this year looking to make it three in a row; the line up is strong. Multiple Champion Jack Overy (617) will lead the team which will include Overys nephew Harry Overy (356) plus Tom Waller (209) and Lee Kingsnorth (400). A robust line up, which could once again take some stopping.

It’s not just about the racing, with the Entertainers’ League hotly contested it’s really going to add something extra to the racing, producing plenty of big hits and battles I’m sure. Crowd favourites Team Sowter/Filmer will aim to be heavily involved as will the Predators team. The Predators took the 2L Bangers War of the World title and finished runner up in the Entertainers league two weeks ago. The lively Aftermath team took the Entertainers crown and are back here today, will they make it two out of two?  

Travellers from all over the country will add further interest to the event, with welcome visits from Northern visitors Team “V” who continue to increase their support of King’s Lynn and back again tonight, they aren’t shy of getting stuck in. Devon’s Jonny James (362) returns two strong Team Extreme line up; which could bring a good mix of racing and wrecking, including notable attendees Michael Allard (349) and former Spedeworth World Champion Terry Coke (627). Team Extreme B finishing second in this event last time in 2019, whereas Team Extreme A topped the Entertainers.

Looking at the Juniors entry – and what an impressive line up it is too – Max Eaton (670) will be looking to make it two final wins in a row here and three on the bounce following his success at Mildenhall last weekend. He will have tough competition though in the form of Louie Cottrill (999) and Riley Marsh (701) who will take some stopping from the front of the grid. It will be a great night once again for the youngsters, their last outing was certainly very entertaining racing!
