A BriSCA fans dream with F1 and F2 Stock Cars on the line up this Saturday. At the time of writing approaching 40 F1’s racing for all important World Qualifying points, whilst over 50 F2 Stock Cars race in World of Shale Qualifying. A good entry throughout the grades, with strong line ups looking to compete in both classes; it’s going to be good!
Congratulations go to 124 Kyle Gray winning his first shale final at our opener a few weeks ago! It was also fantastic to see 268 Richard Woods win the White & Yellow Championship and Eric Graveling Memorial whilst 95 Rob Mitchell took a brilliant victory with his superb self built car on its debut. 515 Frankie Wainman managed a quickfire double with Consolation and Grand National victories; all of them are scheduled to be here again, will one of them be able to keep the form going?
It’s always good to have interest in our meetings from Mainland Europe and we are looking forward to seeing in the mix Dutch Star Brothers 410 Jelle Tesselaar and 418 Niels Tesselaar, who really don’t mess about and will certainly be up there in amongst the top end of things. Similar for Blue grade counterpart 525 Nigel De Kock, who is no slouch on UK circuits - qualifying for the World Final in 2023 in the UK qualification system. 554 Sierd de Vries has already been over to the UK twice in 2024 and is set to join us Saturday night, despite having work at 7am on Sunday. The Dutch drivers will certainly add an interesting dynamic to the action and we thank them for their support and commitment
16 Mat Newson found himself on the podium of the meeting final last time and the local racer will be hoping to improve on that one. A strong Star grade presence will make hard work for the Superstars; particularly with 5 Charlie Sworder and 166 Bobby Griffin lining up. Local racer 457 Callum Gill makes his 2024 debut and we’re looking forward to seeing him back on track; the former King’s Lynn National Banger Points Champion has certainly found his feet in the F1’s and is a very handy performer.
In the front half of the grid and 345 Jake Harrhy will be looking to carry on the form that took him to a win in the meeting Final at Skegness on Good Friday; he will be joined by some strong competition around him; 268 Richard Woods previously mentioned for his win last time here; plus 235 Mick Howarth, 338 Chris Brocksopp and 499 Marc Clayton all go well around King’s Lynn. 82 Karl Mosley has been going well in finding his feet back in F1 Stock Cars and will be one to watch, along with 163 Mark Balmer who took home the white grade award last time here. 352 Bradley Blyth will be looking to make the most of his white grade start; currently sitting sixth in the points, he won’t be there for much longer in his debut season in the class.
The F2 Stock Cars complete the line up, another bumper entry of them anticipated for their second outing of the season here. The 2nd March was a fantastic night and we look forward to the next instalment from them. Leading the charge will be National Points Champion 183 Charlie Guinchard and he will be hoping for some more luck tonight; he will be joined by fellow Superstar 968 Micky Brennan who is always there or thereabouts in the results, and not far away from the action either. 24 Jon Palmer makes the long trip up from the West Country and will be looking to get some shale laps in; he is also not shy of the bumper when it’s required. 47 Greg McKenzie had a fantastic night at the season opener, a third and two second places – can he go one better Saturday, he will be trying! 69 Ben Chalkley took a race win that night and will be hoping the form continues.
136 Kyle Taylor had a good night too 2nd March, he was trying his hardest to win the Aaron Patch memorial, just pipped in the final stages; but still a third place for his efforts following on from a third place in the meeting final; the 136 machine does seem to suit the King’s Lynn oval; he’s back for more. 2023 Track Champion 414 Josh Rayner had a consistent night, with three strong finishes last month and getting his track champion status defence off to a good start.
39 Tom Bradley will be looking to capitalise on his second place last time here and hopefully go one better. 597 Barry Clow and 795 Jason Clow always go well around King’s Lynn and will be looking for some good results. Local racers 43 Marcus Gilbert and 75 Sam Russell will be in action; Marcus picked up a race win last time out, can he carry that success on?
Congratulations go to 95 Rob Mitchell whose great performances all night 16th Match in his self built new car debut, saw him win the first F1 Stock Car Driver of the Day vote and he picks up £100 and a trophy for that; whilst 543 Connor Blake won the first F2 Stock Car meeting final despite strong competition chasing him down; and he won the vote as a result of that great drive; picking up a £50 bonus and a trophy as a result.
Good luck to them all, we’re sure it’s going to be a cracker of an evening! We hope to see you trackside. Let’s get ready to rumble.
