Pre 94 Micro Bangers

** A couple of points of clarification have been added below concerning Vauxhall Corsa B and VW Polo. The 16v engine will not be permitted in Corsa as these are not thought to be in-keeping with the spirit of the meeting (in the same way that Micra K11 is excluded). VW Polo spec contained a typo – Mk3 was a late 1994 introduction and is therefore not pre-1994. **
Trackstar have had some feedback that there is a level of driver demand for a Micro Banger meeting for earlier cars. Whether there is sufficient mass of cars and drivers to run a fixture is an unknown, but if you don’t try then you don’t find out!
After kicking around an assortment of ideas, we are going to try running a Pre ’94 Micro Banger fixture on Saturday August 7th alongside the Pre ’90 Unlimited Bangers. Note that this is a slight adjustment from the Pre ’95 fixture originally announced which has been done to exclude a couple of models introduced in late 1995 which are still competitive and commonly used in current-day Micro fixtures. Nissan Micra K11 is also specifically excluded from the meeting because of the ongoing popularity of such cars today.
Car eligibility
Engine limit for the meeting is the standard 1400cc. No engine swaps are permitted except that rear wheel drive cars may use 1300cc Kent or Crossflow engines. The edited Micro Banger car list for this fixture is as below:
