We’re drawing to the end of the season in what has been a strange year, on Saturday though, we’re anything but near the end of the season, the F1 Stock Car’s are back for their National Shootout, racing in round 6. The BriSCA F1’s have been stunning around King’s Lynn this year and their meetings have been rated some of the best anywhere in the Country this season already; King’s Lynn has also been voted by F1 fans as track of the year, several times in the last few years – if you want to see the F1 Stock Cars, King’s Lynn is the place to see them!
In the Shootout, Tom Harris (1) holds a strong lead, but Ryan Harrison (197) seems to be stepping up to take the battle to him and has closed significantly since the opening round, both Tom and Ryan excel around King’s Lynn, who will gain the upper hand Saturday evening. 11 of the 12 Shootout drivers are scheduled, it’s all to play for and crunch time in the chase for the silver!
Lee Fairhurst (217) looks set to make history and be the first driver to win three finals in a row around the Saddlebow shale. A number of drivers have tried and failed, can Lee go better and take home the bonus? He will be giving it a good go and we wish him well!
Louis Goodwin (295) improves on each meeting; last time here he picked up the White top grade award, can he repeat that this evening? Chris Brocksopp (338) picked up some good results last week at Northampton and former F2 racer Jake Walker (298) is really getting to grips with the F1’s, he could go well here Saturday. Local hero Willie Skoyles (541) is another to keep an eye on and will be giving it his all as will one of the furthest travelled Sam Makim (93) who always enjoys his trip to King’s Lynn, even if when he gets home the very early hours of the morning.
The National Ministox are always good entertainment, these youngsters don’t hold back! The Ministox will be racing for the 2021 British Championship, Jack Witts (1) your defending champion, he was the final winner here last month taking the King’s Lynn open, he might start a favourite, but anything can happen in a Stock Car race! He didn’t have it easy that night, challenged right to the last bend where Leah Sealy (475) went in with an almighty last bender, which saw the number 1 car rattle the plating. Toby Partridge (223) and Thomas Rogers (277) followed them home third and fourth and all are back tonight for more. With 30 of them booked in, it’s going to be good! Who will take the black and white chequered roof for 2021?
The 1300 Stock Cars are a late addition to the programme, to help with the smooth running of the meeting, just under 20 of them are scheduled. Just the Whites and Yellow graders racing, for no points, just for fun.
Todd Payne (149) is going to start one of the favourites, he is quick on track and aggressive with the bumper, he could be challenging for the win. He will be pushed all the way by the Taylors, Chris (421) and Martin (422) who are equally on the pace and not shy of using the bumper, they’ll certainly be ones to keep an eye on. Caine Parnell (229) took a race win in mid-August here too and will be looking to follow that up on Saturday. Richard Colk (509) won the meeting final here on Bank Holiday Monday and will be hoping that good form continues.
Harri Cole (293) and Dean Moat (673) are often in the results too and will be looking for more. John Klyn (61) and Ross Klyn (62) seem to find some good pace and then get caught out in a crash or suffer some misfortune, they will be hoping to avoid that! Jordan Huggins (893) will be worth keeping an eye on too.
Without the pressure of the higher graders, the 1300 Stock Cars will be looking to make best use of the track time and be sure the bumpers will be going in!
Superb Stock Car this Saturday, do not miss it.
