The Ultimate Weekend of Stock Cars at King's Lynn!
Hold on — King's Lynn is about to erupt in a roaring double-header of full-contact championship glory!
Saturday will showcase the biggest night in the Saloon Stock Car calendar, we are proud to hose the 2025 Saloon Stock Car Championship of the World, sponsored by Nick King and Keeping Abreast.
The race last held here in 2018 the race on that occasion was chaotic and full of drama; all things are pointing to more of the same for the 2025 staging. The grid is stacked with some of the best in the business, with drivers from across the UK and Holland all gunning for gold in the World Final race. 32 drivers already in the line up, will be joined by 3 from each of the Last Chance races, making for a huge 38 car grid.
720 Archie Brown will be defending the crown and he is certainly the one to beat in the class currently, regularly lifting trophies and titles, can Archie make it two in a row? The West Country Superstar will certainly be one that can’t be discounted, but he is surrounded by some top drivers who will all be trying to take the gold from him. Lining up next to him former World Champion and the man he beat to the gold, 618 Stuart Shevill JNR. Whilst he might be an infrequent visitor to King’s Lynn, don’t let that fool you in to thinking he won’t be up there, keen as to reclaim that Gold roof. 389 Ryan Santry and 151 Levi List line up on row 2 and both certainly get in to the mix, Santry often gets a race win here and List will make use of the front bumper to get to the front – row two could certainly make things difficult for those in front of them. 902 Brad Compton-Sage and 760 Joey Reynolds line up behind them and again they will be wanting to make their way forward as soon as they can; Reynolds particularly has the form around the shale here with Saloon and Banger outings to help learn the fast route around. Moving in to the overseas drivers and the Dutch could be the best placed they’ve been to challenge for the gold, could 2025 be the year; H868 Bart Wouters lines up on outside row 4 with 747 Matt Stirling on the inside, Stirling was over here a few weeks ago getting track time and he was getting into the grove as the meeting went on, he will be one to keep an eye on. The grid stacked full of drivers who could make an impression and in with a shot, including two former World Champions in the second half of the grid in 116 Diggy Smith and 131 Timmy Barnes, both have what it takes to get closer to the front that’s for sure, but the race is a tantalising prospect, who’s your money on?
Also, on the line up the 1300 Stock Cars, fresh off their World Championship last weekend at Hednesford, the drivers will be battling through a series of heats as they look to qualify for the European Championship race on Sunday. Lots of cars, lots of action and they certainly will provide the entertainment as they are certainly one of the classes to watch around the King’s Lynn shale.
Moving to Sunday Afternoon Mayhem and the action doesn’t stop there with attention turning to the 1300cc Stock Car European Championship, sponsored by MK Autos. It’s the perfect follow-up to Saturday’s Showdown — a full-throttle festival of speed, skill, and sheer determination at they battle for the crown. 167 Jimmy Morris defends the title, he is one of the quickest around King’s Lynn and will be a good bet for being up there once again, Points Champion 303 Jacob Bromley will be looking to take the title from him, Bromley also goes really well around King’s Lynn, his Silver roof points title a testament to that. They will be joined by top drivers from fellow promoters in Scotland, Northern Ireland and England with the best of the best looking to do battle for the red and yellow checks. Former World Champions 23 Lee Pearce and 638 Darren Rae will be joining us and their King’s Lynn form is just as good, Rae’s particularly impressive given his infrequent visit to the shale.
368 Charlie Santry was in flying form early season, but hasn’t has had much chance to showcase that form from Red grade, but given how quick he was from the front half of the grid, the back of the grid isn’t likely to hold him back. 244 Ed Selby, 517 Ben Sanders, 671 Leo Moore also are top runners around the King’s Lynn shale and will certainly be ones to keep an eye on and could feature well in the grid on Sunday. 105 Charlie Terry- Brand, 106 Darren Terry-Brand and 946 Fionn Donnelly we’re sure will be making a good impression too and worth keeping an eye on too.
There’s still lots to race for on Sunday with both classes racing for the Steve Newman memorials, hugely important trophies for the drivers which they will all want to win.
It’s going to be a fantastic weekend of racing, you don’t want to miss it. Good luck to them all. Make sure you’re trackside. Let’s get ready to rumble!
