Introduction
Coming up . . . F1 Stock Cars return to King’s Lynn for the penultimate time in 2022. . . one monster night of Short Oval racing.
BriSCA F1 is back; Big, brutal, fast and furious Stock Car action- Shootout Rd 1 & Dave Leonard Memorial, will it be a case of World Final weekend revenge too? The 2L Stock Cars Bumper Trophy is on the line and they kick off the National Series here too; metal clattering, fence rattling action & the always entertaining MiniStox complete the line up – these youngsters do not hold back!
With the added intrigue of a celebrity guest driver too in the F1 Stock Cars, there is only one place to be to find out who it is…. King’s Lynn this Saturday
There are 32 F1 Stock Cars, 31 2L Stock Cars and 32 National MiniStox booked in to race.
The pit gate will open for competitors at 2pm, the gates for ticket holders will open at 3pm. If purchased advance tickets, please have your e-ticket confirmation ready, either on your phone or printed. The pit gate is for competitors only, there is no pedestrian access at this gate.
The arena boasts great viewing all around (plenty of under cover viewing too!), FREE on site and overflow parking, disabled viewing, licensed bars, food outlets and other great facilities.
A small amount of food and drink can be brought with you into the stadium; alcohol, glass and coolboxes are not permitted. Thank you.
We hope you enjoy your evening with Trackstar at King's Lynn.
Preview:
The BriSCA F1 Stock Cars race in the opening round of the National Series, 11 of the 12 contenders scheduled for battle, featuring a number of stars of the future and some new faces to the Shootout competition; including the first lady to make it in to the silver roof showdown; although, unfortunately Phoebe misses Saturday’s action due to honeymoon. Can the young guns upset the apple cart or will the old guard hold ranks, it’s going to be a tough 10 round contest. Tom Harris defends the coveted Silver roof, who will step up to take it off of him?
Craig Finnikin (55) who misses out on the Shootout might be a hard one to stop, similarly Paul Harrison (2) who can never be discounted, both former World Champions with their toughest rivals starting behind them, one’s to keep an eye on for sure.
Catherine Harris (8) makes her return to the King’s Lynn shale – we think the first time on the loose since the Bradford World Final 2021 for Catherine - and will be looking to give account for herself. She will be joining hardy shale racers; Mark Woodhull (335) and James Morris (463) in the blue grade – Morris holding his nerve to beat Ryan Harrison (197) to the Grand National last meeting here, certainly not to be forgotten – no mean feat!
The front half of the grid will also take some catching, Sam Makim (93) – literally all or nothing with poor Sam.. win it or bin it, but we love seeing him here and seemingly enjoys coming too, rarely missing a meeting despite the significant 5 or so hour journey to be here! Chris Brocksopp (338) and Russell Cooper (415) are also not one’s to be left out, they will certainly be trying, not giving an inch to the competition. We will be cheering on local heroes Callum Gill (457) and Willie Skolyes (541) – Give them a shout too, both will be chomping at the bit for good results.
A strong line up in the F1 Stock Cars, quick lower graders, lots of top drivers at the back, we’re in for a good night from the big league! The night will finish for them with the Dave Leonard Memorial in the Grand National race. Dave was a corner stone of the sport for a number of years; a racer, a fan, sponsor to a number of drivers and the reason why the Under 25 Championship came to fruition. A lot of people will fondly remember Dave, and we are privileged to be able to honour his memory again with his memorial race. A huge thank you to Lee Lawrence for his supreme effort in fundraising the enhanced prize fund and of course, to all the contributors to the fund. Thank you.
The 2L Saloons are back, a good grid of them due and it’s going to be a great night for these too! Whether you were here or not, you will no doubt have heard about the last lap dash for the Saloons here in the ORCi Championship on the Sunday of the F2 World Final weekend. What. A. Last. Lap. . . totally unpredictable, chaos, frantic action. Absolutely awesome to watch. Barry Russell (600) the eventual winner, coming through from 3rd to 1st in the space of 50 yards. BRILLIANT. What will Saturday bring?
The National Series round 1 for some of the drivers who have committed, plus the Bumper trophy is up for grabs. World Champion Timmy Barnes (131) joins us in the final few weeks of his gold roof year, he needs no encouragement to get stuck in, none of the Barnes do in fairness and Timmy will be joined by Tommy (26) and Harry (126) on track. Deane Mayes (730) will be back on track and similarly needs no encouragement to get stuck in, likewise with Diggy Smith (116) on the raceway too, the fence will rattle and the sparks will fly. The Bumper trophy has been in the Smith name for the past two years, will Diggy be able to make it three? Ryan Santry (389) could be offering to take it home with him, he was one of the victims of the ORCi championship showdown, dropping out of the top three, he will be wanting to make up for that this weekend. It’s good to see Darren Goudy (156) booked in too, he had a superb ORCi Championship weekend with a couple of wins for good measure. Should Goudy catch the break, he could well take some stopping again on the night.
A huge thank you to Kevin Wickham for his help in organisation of the Bumper Trophy race, along with all the sponsors who came forward to contribute…. Thank you!
The National Ministox are always good entertainment, these youngsters don’t hold back! Racing for the King’s Lynn Open; closed grid, graded order based on points scored at previous Kings Lynn meetings plus the heat points on the night… this could be chaotic; the race often is a great watch. Freddie Rogers (269) took the win in the meeting final for them in July and might be a good bet for more of the same Saturday. Tom Earl (77) has been a race winner here earlier in the year as was Jack Powley (21) and Mason Whittle (183), both could feature well again in the action. Josh Hattersley (69) was in good form at our meeting here in August and again on the Mildenhall shale last weekend with a heat and final double. Boden Mufin (425) doing the same the night after on the Ipswich tarmac with a heat and final double. We’re in for a superb evening racing from the youngsters; there’s not a stand out driver in them currently you can say will dominate proceedings, which will make for some great racing.
We will also – all being well – have a celebrity guest in the F1 Stock Cars. No details can be released over who this, but trust us.. it could be massive for the Sport; if you can, try and get yourself trackside. A superb meeting on the cards.
We look forward to seeing you there, thank you for the support.
